I love doing everything outdoors, even when it comes to being outside in a truck. I first got into offroading a couple years ago and have been having the time of my life with it. I was a huge car guy before I was into trucks, and really didn’t see what the big was with lifted trucks and big rims, it just goes to show you, that you shouldn’t knock something until you try it.
Well before I purchased my Dodge Ram, I read a bunch of articles online like this. I figured might as well make what I think are the best offroad trucks as well. So here is my list on the best 4x4s you can get.
Dodge Ram Rebel
I am a little biased but I think the Rebel is the best offroad truck you can get currently. There is a ton of aftermarket support for these things, my favorite is are the ram 1500 fender flares. The reason I think it is the best truck though is because of the all around use of it. The truck is great for all kinds of conditions, for both street and trail use.
The rebel has an amazing interior, featurs and functionality, with a decent price considering everything you get, and it also comes with the awesome 5.7 L HEMI engine. If I were to do it all over again, I would still pick it.
Ford F150 Raptor
The Raptor is considered the king of performance when it comes to trucks. Turbocharged, with a very wide stance, it makes for an awesome crawler for offroad trekking. The reason I have it second is because, I just dont think the everyday person would need this, especially at its price point. It is a very expensive truck. However saying that, if you purely want a truck for offroading than this would be your number 1 pick.
The Wrangler when it comes stock, isn’t the best offroading truck, but when you put some money and parts into it, it can really become the best one on this list. There are some trims which come with upgraded suspension kits which make it a little better. But these trucks really shine when they are completely done up.
The new generation of 4Runners are built like tanks, and can wrastle a good trail. They have the solid body which makes it great for doing this kind of stuff. The TRD pros which is Toyotas highest trim for offroading, had an upgraded suspension, to allow for better movement. Which is a great thing when climbing up rocks and steep hills.
